Welcome to the Community & Mental Health Convention 2024

We are excited to announce the Community & Mental Health Convention (CMC), hosted by UPSIDE and The Family Counselling Centre (TFCC) from 11 – 12 October at King of Kings Baptist Centre in Sun Valley, Cape Town.

This year’s 2-day convention aims to bring together a diverse group of professionals, organisations, and individuals dedicated to promoting mental health awareness in Cape Town communities and invites the public to participate. It will also address critical issues surrounding mental health awareness, destigmatisation, and access to support resources.

About the event

Welcome to the Community & Mental Health Convention (CMC), proudly hosted by UPSIDE and The Family Counselling Centre (TFCC). Join us from 11 – 12 October at the King of Kings Baptist Centre in Sun Valley, Cape Town, for a community convention dedicated to advancing mental health awareness and community wellness.

Over two days, we bring together 25 speakers, 30 topics and over 400 people committed to Piecing Together Mental Health. The event will address critical issues surrounding mental health awareness, destigmatisation, and access to support resources.

Symposium

Esteemed experts Barbara van Heerden, Robert Botha, and Nousheena Firfirey-Brijlal will share their insights on holistic mental well-being and innovative strategies for organisations.

Conference

Aimed at professionals and organisations in the mental health sector, this closed event offers a chance to explore crucial community and mental health topics.

Alongside the Expo, we will offer smaller workshops in breakaway rooms covering various Community & Mental Health topics.
